Tenzin hails from a Tibetan settlement in Lalitpur, Nepal, but currently resides in Dharamsala, India, and has an older brother (who has completed his Bachelor’s Degree and is looking for work.) She is described as a strong individual who is incredibly determined to finish her education and follow a successful career path to help out her mother at home.
Unfortunately, Tenzin’s father has cancer and is barely able to stand up, let alone work, so her mother is the sole earner in the household. Due to her low income and the additional expenses in treatment for the father, Tenzin’s family are completely unable to bear the costs of her ongoing education.
