Welcome to your first Tibet Matters of the year. In early February we celebrated Losar, Tibetan New Year. 2019 is the year of the Earth Pig, a symbol of generosity, sincerity and love. We would like to wish you all a happy Losar and a wonderful year to come!
For Tibetans this is a very significant year as it marks the 60th anniversary of the 1959 Tibetan uprising and the arrival of the first Tibetan refugees to India. Tibet Relief Fund was founded soon after and we have been working with Tibetans around the world ever since.
In this issue we give you a taste of some of the many ways you can get involved throughout this important year and look to the future with the launch of our new mission and vision. By evolving with changing times we can focus our work where the need is greatest.
As ever, thank you so much for your ongoing support. You have enabled us to be there for Tibetans for 60 years and with your help we can continue to do so, whatever the future may hold.
