Gapa is one of the poorest Tibetan settlements in India. It is located in Kamrao, a remote area of Himachal Pradesh. Due to the remoteness of the settlement and lack of livelihood opportunities, it’s really difficult for the school to hire teachers willing to live and work there long-term.
Thanks to you, for the last several years we have supported Gapa’s school by covering salaries for two Tibetan teachers, as well as stationery, teaching materials and recently a new computer!
When teachers are paid a fair salary they feel valued and motivated to continue providing children with the education and tools needed for a bright future.
