Never Forget Tibet Launches in the UK

As the oldest and leading UK charity supporting Tibetans, we were delighted to co-host the UK premiere of Never Forget Tibet on 29th March – a feature length documentary from Compassionate Films narrated by Hugh Bonneville, featuring exclusive interviews with the Dalai Lama telling the story of his escape to India from Tibet in 1959. Tibet Relief Fund was founded shortly after his escape and has been working tirelessly since then to support Tibetans in building healthier, stronger and more prosperous communities.

The film is all the more special to us, as the Dalai Lama is Tibet Relief Fund’s patron. It was fantastic to be part of an evening that brought an eclectic mix of people together to raise awareness about the Dalai Lama’s story and the challenges still facing Tibetans.

Momos were served, Tibetan monks shared an opening prayer, Sadie Frost chaired a Q&A, and Dr Deepak Chopra led a beautiful guided meditation on peace before the film and spoke about his decades-long friendship with the Dalai Lama. His meditation is included in the cinema release, which launches nationwide in April and May in cinemas including Everyman, Odeon, Picturehouse, Vue and many more.

Special thanks to our friends at Komodo and Huw Rowlands, who formed our Host Committee, helping make this unique event happen.

As the official charity partner of the UK launch of this important film, we can’t wait for you all to see it. You can browse the full list of cinemas showing the film and purchase tickets at intl.neverforgettibet.com.
