Dr. Roy Welford visited Bakhang in Nepal to see the school he helped rebuild in memory of his wife.

Since the devastating earthquakes hit Nepal in 2015, your donations have allowed us to work with the community in Bakhang to rebuild their school and houses using earthquake-resistant techniques, and to establish a brand new health post.

Dr Roy Welford has been a generous supporter of our work in Bakhang and the surrounding areas for many years, contributing to the rebuilding of the school in memory of his wife Fee, and more recently providing new desks and educational materials for the local children.

After Roy’s latest (somewhat windy!) visit to Nepal we were delighted to hear his excitement about the progress in the village, as well as his observations on where there is still work to be done.

Roy says: “It’s been a great trip. And Bakhang actually is thriving compared to how it was six years ago. It seems to have really recovered very well and that’s a great testament to them.”

A huge thank you to Roy, and to all of you who have supported the people of Bakhang over the years.

We would also like to thank our project partner, @build_up_nepal_ , for their brilliant work leading construction.

Roy’s visit was a heartwarming reminder of the power of donating to make a difference in the lives of others. It is a story that should inspire us all to give in whatever way we can.
