Update: Building at Bakhang of the staff quarters for their new community health post is well on the way.

We’re excited to report that the residents of Bakhang village, Nepal, are well on the way with building the staff quarters for their new community health post!

They have used the earth brick machine donated by Tibet Relief Fund to produce earth bricks using local materials, saving costs and cutting carbon emissions by up to 60% compared with traditional fired bricks.

Now that temperatures are above freezing, they can get on with cementing and concreting. The staff quarters should be finished by May and this will mean the health post can be permanently staffed.

Thank you to Guernsey Overseas Aid for funding this project and to @build_up_nepal_, our project partner, for their excellent work leading the construction.

Stay informed!
