With another year of astounding work complete, the Rewa Rehabilitation Centre continues to support profound transformation in the lives of individuals living with addiction and a deep commitment to strengthening the wider community.
The past year has seen the remarkable trajectory of 44 individuals who successfully completed Rewa’s rehabilitation programme, emerging with renewed purpose and hope, ready to contribute meaningfully to their families and society. At Tibet Relief Fund, we are proud to support this achievement, which underscores Rewa’s effective and compassionate approach to recovery.

Beyond individual healing, Rewa actively empowers individuals to rebuild their lives. The success of 12 programme participants in securing meaningful employment demonstrates the tangible impact of Rewa’s support in fostering self-reliance and dignity. The inspiring story of a former programme participant becoming a woodworking and guitar instructor, skills nurtured through Rewa’s innovative Luthier therapy, exemplifies the potential for a pathway to a brighter future and the ripple effect of support. This programme, along with the establishment of a wood workshop and partnership with Dehradun Guitar Company, provides crucial pathways for sustainable livelihoods.

Rewa’s holistic approach extends beyond therapy and skill development. By supporting a programme participant in obtaining a driver’s license and providing language skills training in Basic English and Tibetan, Rewa equips individuals with essential tools for independent living and cultural connection. Recognising the importance of prevention and awareness, this year, Rewa has actively engaged with the community through substance abuse awareness programs in local Tibetan schools and the Chakrata Tibetan Army camp. In addition, Rewa and its programme participants demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility through community cleaning projects. The launch of online counseling initiatives expands Rewa’s reach, offering vital mental health support to those unable to access in-person services.

While there have been incredible achievements over the last year, the rehabilitation centre faces ongoing challenges, including securing consistent funding to sustain operations and attract qualified staff, as well as the critical need for robust aftercare support to ensure long-term success for those in rehabilitation. Despite these hurdles, Rewa remains steadfast in its mission, and requires the crucial support of donors to ensure sustainability, expansion of vital services such as dual diagnosis treatment, strengthening of aftercare programmes, and the broadening of community outreach efforts.
With the support of Tibet Relief Fund since its inception, Rewa Rehabilitation Centre has been a source of strength and motivation, supporting 122 individuals living with addiction and empowering 32 to secure employment. These milestones underscore the transformative power of Rewa’s work and the profound impact of collective compassion in rebuilding lives and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
